Attention High School Students Seeking Career Training:
Join the NC Department of Transportation to learn about the two week Transportation Summer Accelerator Education Program with NC public schools. Students will receive classroom instruction and hands-on training in transportation related careers such as operating heavy equipment, earning flagger credentials, and becoming a registered pre-apprentice.
Classroom instruction: Learn project development skills, learn how to bid on NCDOT contracts, Learn about highway construction careers, Earn flagger credentials, Learn first aid and CPR, Gain OSHA 10 certification, Earn credential training.
Hands on training: Work in a mock construction site, participate in heavy equipment simulations, participate in field trips and other year-round activities.
