Good Evening Tuscola Families!
February and March are busy times for all of us as we prepare for registration for next year.
Our current 10th graders will be meeting with counselors in the media center starting on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. (Meetings on 2/17, will be held in the cafeteria) to discuss future planning, classes for next year, the registration process and to answer any questions. Students will report to the media center based upon their homeroom teacher. Students should consult their email and their Counseling Center Google Classroom for the class of 2024 for the time their homeroom should report for counseling sessions. It is very important that students attend this required session.

For parents of our current students: Our counseling center would like to invite you to a Registration Parent Night on Monday, February 21st at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria. We will share information about the registration process for the 2022-2023 school year. This will include information about Honors and AP classes, as well as options for taking courses at Haywood Community College and the School of Math and Science. Our Tuscola catalog of available courses and materials needed for registration will be available on your student’s Google Classroom and our Tuscola High School website on Monday,February 14th if you want to begin looking ar course requirements and elective options. Haywood County Health and Human Services is partnering with Optum Serve and Lake Junaluska Assembly to offer free COVID-19 diagnostic testing to Haywood County residents. Lake Junaluska Assembly will host the testing site at its Wilson Children’s Complex as a drive-through site. Patients will enter through the parking lot off of North Lakeshore Drive and follow the signage through the site. Both rapid antigen and PCR test options will be available. Rapid tests provide results in as little as 15 minutes. PCR test results are returned several days later. The Haywood County testing site is by appointment only, please do not arrive for testing if you do not have an appointment for everyone who plans to be tested. Masks will be required to enter the testing area. Call 828-356-2019 if you have technical questions about booking an appointment. Testing will be offered at no cost to the patient. Please have your driver’s license ready when you arrive. Insurance information will not be required.
Finally, thanks to all of you who attended our “BIG T” athletic booster meeting this past Monday night. The planning meeting for the “Big T Bash” will be held Tuesday evening at 5:30 in our media center. The next general meeting for the “Big T” club will be held on March 3rd at 6:00 in the media center. Anyone with an interest in THS athletics is welcome and invited to attend!
