Good Evening Tuscola Families!
We received some wonderful news from Governor Roy Cooper this afternoon about the capacity of fans that can attend outdoor events. This is excellent news for fans of all of our winter and spring sporting events. The mask mandate will remain in effect for all athletes and fans.
Home teams will be allowed to fill 30% of their capacity starting on FRIDAY of this week. As you all know, this will directly impact our varsity football game at Pisgah High School on Friday night. Please note that the regulations for tomorrow night’s JV football game remain the same at 100 fans in the stadium.
Pisgah has been generous enough to allow us to sell a limited number of tickets to our fans. As the home team, they will receive the revenue, but we are grateful to them for allowing us, as the visiting team, to have some of our own spectators.
Please listen carefully for the procedures that will be followed regarding the sale of tickets from Tuscola.
Varsity Football players and cheerleaders need to see their coaches tomorrow where they will each receive a voucher for their families. Players and Cheerleaders will be admitted as part of the team free of charge. The vouchers are for family members. When shown by families at the gate at Pisgah, the voucher will entitle them to purchase 4 tickets per athlete at the gate. Families of athletes will be REQUIRED to have this voucher and payment with them in order to purchase tickets and enter the game on Friday.
We have also been given a limited number of tickets for our fans that will be PRE-SOLD in the following manner:
- We want to ensure that as many tickets as possible are available to our students.
- Starting at 9:00am tomorrow morning, SENIOR students (no matter what learning plan) will be allowed to purchase one ticket per student at $7.00 per ticket from the lobby area outside the counseling center.
- At 9:30 am, we will open this up to JUNIOR students at one ticket per student at $7.00 in the same location.
- At 10:00am, we will open sales up to Sophomore students with the same provisions. and at 10:30am, we will open sales to freshman students with the same provisions.
We are asking our staff to allow students to miss 30 minutes of class or 45 minutes of a Google Meet should they want to come and purchase a ticket. Students will still be responsible for the completion of all assignments ON TIME for their classes.
At 12:00pm, we will open up ticket sales to parents and the general public from our guard shack on campus. Sale of tickets will be limited to 4 tickets per vehicle at $7.00 per ticket. Once purchase is complete, vehicles will be required to leave campus. Sales will be on a first come, first served basis, and once all of our allotted tickets are sold, there will be no further ticket sales for Tuscola.
This is an exciting game for all of Haywood County. We are thrilled to be allowed to have additional spectators. Again, we thank Pisgah High School for allowing us to sell tickets to our fans from our campus.
There will be no exceptions to the procedures stated above. Please follow these guidelines when planning your ticket purchases.
Thank you and have a great evening.
