Tuscola Student Wins in Smart Tank Competition
Looking to develop young entrepreneurs, WRESA & the Cherokee Preservation Fund sponsored a competition this school year called Smart Tank. Students from many western North Carolina schools competed in the competition. Each group/individual took on the challenge of developing a marketable product to present to the local “Smart Tank” judges. After judging was completed, awards were given and one of the award winners was Daniel Moody, a senior at Tuscola High School. Daniel worked with his Smart Tank Mentor, Jim Davis (science teacher at Tuscola High School). His project was a deodorizer sanitizing spray to clean and freshen masks. Daniel was awarded $300.00 for his presented project and plans to use the prize money to help towards his college expenses.
