ANIME -Sponsor:  Ms. Judy (B10)

Anime is a place for fans of Japanese animation to get together, share experiences and watch some new anime.  They will meet every Friday unless there is a special occasion.

ART- Sponsor:  Ms. DeGrove (D2)

Art Club is involved in community art projects, fundraising and face painting activities during homecoming and the Tuscola football game.  There is an $8.00 fee and meetings are announced.

BACH TO BROADWAY- Sponsor:  Ms. Medford (Chorus)

Bach to Broadway is one of two auditioned Choral groups that Pisgah offers our students.

BLACK BEAR BOOK CLUB- Sponsor:  Ms. Hanson (B4)

Students who love to read and like exploring the world of fiction are encouraged to join this club.  Students select a book to read and meet one Thursday afternoon each month to discuss the selected novels.  There is no fee, though students are responsible for obtaining their own copy of selected novels.

CHESS- Sponsor:  Mr. Wyatt (C13)

Chess Club meets on Monday and Wednesday after school.  Students should bring their own chess set.

CHORAL BOOSTERS- Sponsor:  Ms. Medford (Chorus)

Choral Boosters is an organization for parents and students involved in the choral program throughout the year.  Projects include supporting the choral program through volunteer service during shows and other events.

COLOR GUARD TEAM- Sponsor:  Chief Long (B16)

Any member of the Pisgah NJROTC unit is eligible to participate in our Color Guard team.  We will teach you how to perform the Color Guard like you see at the home ball games.  We meet every Thursday right after school and finish by 4:30 p.m.

DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) Sponsor:  Ms. Cragg

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.  There is a $20.00 fee.  Please visit their website: www.phsmarketing.webnode.com

DRAMA- Sponsor:  Ms. Judy (B10)

Drama Club is for any student interested in being part of the theater program.  This group usually rehearses and performs one play each semester; however, students do not have to be in each play to be in the Drama Club.  Meetings are announced.

ENVIROTHON- Sponsor:  Mr. Shepard (C12)

Envirothon is a program designed to allow students to apply environmental science in actual situations.  Students have the opportunity to listen and speak with experts in various fields and use their knowledge to compete with other teams from across the region and the State.  Pisgah consistently places in the top at competitions.

FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes)  Sponsor:  Coach Holloway (Gym)

The vision of FCA at Pisgah is to see our school and community impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of athletes and coaches.  Our focus is on serving our school and community by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.  They meet every Friday morning at 7:30 a.m.

FCCLA(Family, Career, Community Leaders of America) Sponsor:  Ms. Fountain (D1)

FCCLA is a national student organization with Family, Career and Community as its main focus.  Current and former FACS students are eligible for membership and dues are $15.00 per year.  Meetings are announced.

FFA -Sponsors:  Ms. Howell/Ms. Harvey (E2)

To be a member of this club, a student must be enrolled in either Equine Science, Horticulture, Animal Science or an AgriScience class.  The club fee is $12.00 and they participate in several fun activities throughout the school year as well as career development events and judging contests.

FRENCH HONOR SOCIETY- Sponsor:  Ms. Johnson (B9)

Honor students who have completed at least two years of French with an A average qualify to be a member.

HOSA(Health Occupation Students of America) Sponsor:  Ms. Kuykendall (D5)

This club is for anyone interested in a career in Health Care.  For more information visit:  www.hosa.org

ITS(International Thespian Society)- Sponsor:  Ms. Judy (B10)

This is the honor society for theater in high school and college.  Students with sufficient experience in theater and who meet the standard for an honor program are invited to join.  Students involved in theater programs outside school can also request admission.  This program does require students to be involved in at least one production each year to maintain membership.  There is a $22.00 fee at the initial induction and students receive a subscription to Dramatics magazine.

KEY CLUB- Sponsor:  Mr. Long

Key Club is sponsored by Kiwanis International with the main objective being to build and promote character, leadership and to serve our school, community and church.  They are involved in numerous projects through the school year.

LEO CLUB-Sponsors:  Mr. Allen/Ms. Morgan (C2)

Leo Club is a junior division of the Lions Club and is involved in many community service projects during the school year.  Students are required to complete 25 hours of community service in a school year and is open to students in all grade levels.  The club also sponsors Breakfast of Champions which sends Junior and Senior students to the elementary school to eat breakfast with students once a month in a “big brother/sister” capacity.  They meet every other Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. in Mr. Allen’s room.

LITERARY AND ART MAGAZINE CLUB Sponsors:  Ms. Christopher/Ms. DeGrove (B2)

This club published the Pisgah Perspectives Magazine to provide a forum for student-produced writing and art at Pisgah.  Students send submissions for consideration, and the magazine staff makes selects for publication based on literary and artistic merit.  Anyone interested may be part of the magazine staff.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Sponsors:  Ms. McElreath/Ms. McCall (C11)

National Honor Society is a nationally-based organization that seeks to recognize high school students who excel in academics and leadership.  The Honor Society also emphasizes character and service to the school and community.  A 3.75 GPA is required and students must be in 10th, 11th or 12th grades.

ORION SHOW CHOIR- Sponsor-Ms. Medford (Chorus)

Students must audition for the Orion Show Choir.

PAW(People for Animal Welfare)- Sponsor:  Ms. Roseboom (A2)

This club will give animal lovers an opportunity to learn about pets and their proper care.  They raise money and supplies for animal shelters and offer an opportunity to volunteer.

PEP CLUB- Sponsor:  Ms. Fountain (D1)

The Pep Club motivates students to be involved in school activities and promotes school spirit.  Membership is open to the entire student body with dues of $5.00 per year.  Members may purchase athletic tickets in advance at a reduced amount of $1.00.

QUIZ BOWL- Sponsor:  Ms. McCall (A3)

Student teams compete in answering knowledge based questions.

RIFLE TEAM- Sponsor:  Chief Long (B16)

Attention all NJROTC Shooters!!  Any member of the Pisgah NJROTC unit is eligible to participate in our Air Rifle Team.  We meet every Wednesday right after school in room B16 and shoot in the cafeteria and are finished by 5:00 p.m.

SADD(Students Against Destructive Decisions) Sponsor:  Ms. McEntire (D9)

This club focuses on students helping students make positive decisions about challenges in their everyday lives.  They meet in Mrs. McEntire’s room.

SKATEBOARDING- Sponsor:  Ms. Squires (C9)

This club is for anyone interested in skateboarding and traveling to different skate parks.  The club meets once a month during homeroom and there is no fee.  Students must have no skateboarding offenses in Canton to be part of this club.

SPANISH CLUB- Sponsor:  Ms. Aquaviva (D8)

Spanish Club meets once a month and is open to all past and present Spanish students interested in learning more about Spanish culture.  This club is involved in service projects during the school year.

SPORTSMAN CLUB- Sponsor:  Mr. Singleton (E9)

Anyone who loves the outdoors is invited to join this club.  They meet every Wednesday morning at 7:45 a.m.

STUDENT COUNCIL- Sponsor:  Ms. Larson (B8)

The purpose of this organization shall be as follows:  to attain a higher standard of citizenship, to promote student participation and interest in the school, to promote a higher standard of culture and education in the sciences and arts, to develop and maintain school spirit, to keep school life of the student body harmonious, to promote policy of student representation, and to promote the general welfare at Pisgah High School.-from our Constitution and By-laws

TRU CLUB- Sponsor:  Ms. Morgan (B11)

TRU Club increases tobacco awareness and encourages ways to avoid tobacco use and/or cease tobacco usage.  Students usually get the chance to go into the local elementary schools and teach tobacco prevention to younger students.  This club is open to students in all grade levels.

VOCATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY- Sponsor:  Ms. Ray (E)

For membership in the Vocational Honor Society students must have 4 classes within a pathway with one being a second level.  They can only have 3 or fewer ISS days their senior year and never have had OSS.  Only seniors are eligible.  Seniors are nominated by Career and Technical teachers for membership and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

YEARBOOK- Sponsor:  Ms. Hanson (B4)

Students in this class create and publish the school yearbook and multimedia presentations that document the events of the school year.  Students interview students and teachers, design and edit pages using different software and write articles.  Those students interested in journalism, photography, art and graphic design are encouraged to take this class.
