THS 2020 Graduation Press Release

Tuscola High School will graduate the Class of 2020 in a different manner than ever before due to the continued social distancing requirements mandated by the State of North Carolina.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we plan to utilize a drive-thru style graduation on the THS campus with various time slots on June 2nd and June 3rd. This style of graduation will allow each student to walk across a stage as they receive their diploma from Tuscola and will give families a front-row seat of the event. The decision to enact this style of graduation was based directly on survey results gleaned from our seniors who wished to have the opportunity to walk across a stage, receive their diploma, and to have their family in close proximity to observe. Alternative plans are in place should there be changes in social distancing guidelines as well as inclement weather. Very soon, seniors will be sent a form that allows them to sign up for a desired available time slot on the two designated Graduation days. This form will assist us in organizing our graduates as they arrive and to properly place them in the vehicle progression. It is our mission to make this event as special and honorable as possible to our seniors, given the current circumstances. More information will be distributed as the time approaches. Students, please continue to check your student emails and the THS website for important information going forward.
