A message from Mr. Trantham regarding the 3/13/2020 fire alarm:

Good morning students and staff,
This morning at approximately 10:20, the fire alarm at Tuscola High School activated, and students evacuated quickly from all buildings.  The Junaluska Fire Department and our Maintenance Department arrived and determined that the alarm was caused by a faulty duct sensor in the gym area.  Within 30 minutes, the building was deemed safe by emergency officials, and students were allowed to return to class.  I appreciate that our students treated this situation with the seriousness that it deserved.  With the coordinated effort from our staff, the Junaluska Fire Department, the Haywood County Fire Marshall’s Office, and our Maintenance Department, we were able to quickly resolve the situation and keep all of our students safe.
